Masters Murder Trial to Begin Thursday

The murder trial of an 18-year-old Quincy man is scheduled to begin Thursday in Adams County Circuit Court.

A final pre-trial hearing was held Wednesday for Gavin Masters. He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Masters is accused fatal shooting of 21-year-old Randy Bowser-Smith and the wounding of 21-year-old Skyler Osborne on July 4.

Judge Robert Adrian granted a motion by the prosecution to bar all witnesses from the courtroom until they have testified.

Jury selection will begin Thursday morning, with opening statements to be heard as soon as Thursday afternoon.
