A Moberly man is sentenced Thursday on weapons and burglary charges in Monroe County Circuit Court in Paris.

40 year old Kevin Marshall had pleaded guilty to the charges and entered an Alford plea to charges of assault and resisting arrest. An Alford plea means that while Marshall does not admit guilt, he concedes that there is enough evidence to find him guilty.

Marshall was charged in connection with a series of events that began August 19th, 2016 when he was spotted trying to break into a vehicle using a hatchet in Madison, and ended when he was shot twice during a scuffle inside Hickman’s IGA in Paris.
