A Moberly man pleads guilty to a variety of charges in connection with a 2016 incident.

In Monroe County Circuit Court Thursday, 40 year old Kevin Marshall pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon, second degree burglary and first degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

Marshall also entered an Alford plea to a charge of first degree assault of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. Entering an Alford plea means that Marshall did not plead guilty, but acknowledged that there is enough evidence to find him guilty.

Marshall is alleged to have attempted to break into a vehicle in Madison in August of 2016.

A police chase led authorities to Paris, where Marshall allegedly broke into a grocery store, attacked a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy and was shot at least twice before being taken into custody.

Marshall is scheduled for sentencing June 7th. He remains in the Monroe County Jail on $100,000 bond.
