The atmosphere was bittersweet at the 62nd annual meeting of the United Way of the Mark Twain Area Wednesday.
Those in attendance celebrated another year of exceeding their fundraising goal for 2013, but said goodbye to their longtime executive director.
Despite a financial climate that is still tough for some, the United Way topped its $567,000 campaign goal by $3,000.

This was the last annual meeting for Lou Lemen, who is retiring as Executive Director of the United Way after 22 years on the job.

Frank DiTillo takes over as Executive Director in March.
