The United Way of the Mark Twain Area's 2015 fundraising campaign goal is within reach.

United Way Executive Director Frank Ditillo reports that the campaign's $580,000 goal will be reached within the next day or two. This means that the United Way's annual meeting on February 18 will be a celebration of meeting and exceeding this year's goal.

Another United Way project that got underway this week is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Income eligible northeast Missouri residents can contact Douglass Community Services to make an appointment to get their income taxes done through VITA.
