Congratulations to the iconic Mark Twain Dinette on celebrating 75 years in business!

The restaurant, located at 400 N. 3rd Street in downtown Hannibal, opened on February 2, 1942 under owner M.E. Pennewell—the first of only four owners in the site’s history.

The site is famous for their $2 Maid-Rite sandwiches, homemade root beer, and iconic giant root beer mug in front. In a recent Facebook post, Mark Twain Dinette pledged to get the mug rotating as it had for so many years.
