The Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum will hold its 3rd annual Trivia Night on October 5 at the Hannibal Nutrition Center, 219 South 10th Street. I've participated in this every year with the KHMO team, and it is a blast! The first year our team (KHM OMG!) placed 2nd. I think we were 3rd or 4th, last year.

I would highly recommend participating in Trivia Night. Not only is it a lot of fun, but it's super affordable, and all the money benefits the ongoing improvements to the Becky Thatcher House. The cost for a team is $100. Teams can have up to 10 players, which means that the price comes to just $10 per person.

The trivia competition consists of ten rounds with ten questions per round. Only one category will feature Mark Twain and will focus on his 1872 book 'Roughing It.' In the past, we've answered questions on all sorts of topics, ranging from entertainment to religion. I was particularly happy  to help out our team by coming up with "Flying Spaghetti Monster" as the correct answer to one of last year's questions. I was afraid I might be the only person in the room to know about something so obscure, but I wasn't. That means I'm not totally weird...right?

Teams are allowed to bring in their own snacks, but no outside coolers or beverages. A cash bar will also open during the event. In addition, there will be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle and bake sale.

If you'd like to register a team, contact email Brenna McDermott at the Mark Twain Museum, or call at 573-221-9010 ext. 404. You can also download the registration form here.
