Groundbreaking ceremonies Friday mark the start of construction on a new home for Mark Twain Behavioral Health in Hannibal.
Chief Executive Officer Mike Cantrell says they’ve been working toward this over the last three years. It’s a chance to build from the ground up with their new location on Forrest Drive near the Hannibal Regional Hospital complex. Cantrell says "we felt like it was the right thing to do and that we belonged out here on the medical campus with the other health care providers." Cantrell adds that virtually all types of outpatient behavioral health services will be available at the new facility. Construction is expected to take 12 to 13 months.
