Mark Twain Avenue in Hannibal will remain a five lane highway.

Citing significant public feedback, the Missouri Department of Transportation announces that resurfacing will take place from just south of Grand Avenue to Stowell School, and that Mark Twain Avenue will continue to be five lanes wide.

Along with the resurfacing, MODOT plans to upgrade the sidewalk on the bluff side of the avenue, along with making the road pedestrian and bicycle friendly.

The resurfacing is set for the summer of 2015 at an estimated cost of $1.2 million dollars.
