Upgraded elder abuse charges are filed in the case of an altercation that took place in Palmyra on June 5th.

In a press release, Marion County Prosecutor David Clayton says that charges against 43 year old Anthony Villeme from second degree assault to first degree elder abuse.

Villeme is alleged to have seriously injured 74 year old James Church in the altercation.

Also, Clayton has requested law enforcement to reopen investigations into prior allegations of abuse against Villeme in Palmyra and other communities.

The press release said that Villeme would be arrested and lodged in the Marion County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.
