The Marion County Commissioners agreed Monday to allow the public to have limited access to the county’s geographic information system.

Those who log on to marioncogis.com will be able to get basic information about properties, including the owner’s name, address, parcel number, parcel lines and a brief legal description.

For those who want more detailed information on properties in the county, a subscription can be purchased for $20 a month. That will be available once a licensing agreement with the county is finalized.

Limited access by the public will also be granted to the Vanguard database the county assessor’s office uses for land parcels in Marion County. Subscriptions will also be available for additional access.
