A southern Illinois woman once convicted of murder in her 3-year-old daughter's death has been found guilty of a lesser count during her retrial.

A Williamson County jury deliberated about four hours Thursday before finding 24-year-old Karrae Starr guilty of involuntary manslaughter. The Herrin woman had been charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 death of Bianca Starr

Prosecutors argued the woman covered her daughter's mouth and nose with the intent to kill her. Herrin police later found an unresponsive Bianca while responding to a 911 call from an apartment. The girl later was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Jurors in 2010 convicted Starr of first-degree murder, and she was sentenced to 32 years in prison. But that verdict was thrown out on appeal.
