A report of a man with a gun in the 400 block of Lind Tuesday results in the arrest of a Quincy man.

Adams County Sheriff’s deputies arriving at the scene were advised that they were threatened by an individual with a firearm and that the man ran into a residence in the 900 block of North Fifth reportedly occupied by small children and two adults. The deputy approached and was able to get children in the doorway to come outside. The suspect then came out of the house yelling and screaming. The deputy saw the subject reach behind his back and saw a handgun fall to the ground.

Deputies say 54 year old Robert Miller of Quincy was then taken into custody without incident. Miller is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a stolen firearm and unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon. The handgun was found to have been stolen in a burglary earlier this year in Adams County.
