A man on parole for the 1975 killing of an Illinois sheriff's deputy has been arrested in Missouri. The State Journal-Register reports Ronald Edwards was paroled in May after serving half of his sentence in the death of Sangamon County Deputy William Simmons. The 66-year-old Edwards faces burglary charges for allegedly trying to steal an ATM from a Missouri convenience store.
