(Monroe City, Mo.)—A 20-year-old man goes to the Monroe County Jail after a violent incident at a New Year’s Eve party in Monroe City.  Authorities say Nathaniel Beauchamp faces charges of First-Degree Assault, marijuana and paraphernalia charges after Monroe City Police find a victim with a serious stab wound at a house on North Oak Street, shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day.

A description of Beauchamp’s get-away car enabled a Monroe County Deputy to make the arrest a short time later.  Beauchamp reportedly had blood stains on his clothing, and told officers he felt threatened by a number of subjects at the party and used his knife in self-defense.
