One man is in custody and another is being sought after an eastern Missouri deputy was nearly run down after reportedly interrupting a drug deal.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a Lincoln County deputy responded to a call about 2 a.m. Thursday at Cuivre River State Park. Authorities say 39-year-old Christopher Wright of Foley tried to run him over.

The deputy escaped harm and caught up to the suspect's pickup truck. Police say Wright jumped out of the moving truck but was struck by it. He then allegedly charged at the deputy, who subdued him with a stun gun.

The deputy was unharmed.

Wright is charged with assault of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest, and drug charges are pending. He does not have a listed attorney.
