On Thursday June 13, 2013 at approximately 11:53 am an officer with the Hannibal Police Department conducted a citizen contact at Magnolia and Broadway. The officer made contact with the 31 year old Monroe City male because he had been driving while suspended or revoked as well as believed to have a warrant for his arrest. According to officers reports upon contacting the male he attempted to flee from the officer and began to physically assault the officer with his fists. The male was subdued and taken into custody; during a search officers located items thought to be heroin and items thought to be drug paraphernalia. Arrested was Alvin R. Mayfield Jr., 31 of Monroe City Missouri.

He was arrested for Assault on Law Enforcement, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Property Damage, Driving while Suspended/ Revoked as well as a Marion County Warrant, he was transported to the Marion County Jail to be held on the warrant as well as pending charges. On June 14th a criminal arrest warrant was issued in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County Missouri charging Alvin R. Mayfield Jr. with a class C felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He is currently being held on a 100,000.00 cash only bond.
