Maine Center Damaged by Hit and Run Driver

(Quincy, Ill)—Quincy Police called to an accident at 5th and Maine around 2:22am Saturday morning discovered a pickup had crashed into the east side of the Maine Center.

Witnesses told officers the occupants fled the scene after the crash.  The driver is believed to have lost control on 6th Street, shearing off a light standard before colliding with the building.

Officers located the pickup’s owner, Brady M. Fielding at 5th and Hampshire and determined he was an occupant at the time of the crash.  Fielding was arrested for Failure to Report an Accident and released on bond.

Police continue to investigate the identity of the driver.

The building sustained damage to the brick facade and several broken windows.
