(Hannibal)--The stalemate between the owners of a pit bull and the Hannibal Post Office continues this weekend.

Postal officials recently suspended mail delivery to all residents in the 5000 Block of College Avenue after claims the dog acted aggressively toward mail carriers.

David and Kristi Taylor own the dog named “Moose”.   Kristi Taylor says she doesn’t agree with Postal Service claims the dog is dangerous, and says they have offered to make some accommodations to alleviate the dispute, including installing a fence in the backyard.

Taylor says Postal officials are asking the dog be removed permanently from the premises before delivery will resume.  According to Taylor, a meeting is scheduled next week to discuss the matter further.  The neighborhood meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7th at the Hannibal Police Station.
