Authorities confirm the arrest of 18 year-old Myron Mahaney in connection with a shooting in Hannibal Wednesday night.

The Marion County Prosecutors Office issued a formal complaint today charging Mahaney with felony assault and armed criminal action.  The charges result from a shots fired incident in the 2500 Block of Broadway.  Police say a 56 year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.  He was treated by EMS at the scene.

In a Probable Cause Statement, Hannibal Police say numerous bullet holes were discovered in homes and cars in the area.  A vehicle seen fleeing the area was later stopped by deputies, and 28 year-old Tion Dorsey of Mexico was taken into custody.  Dorsey stated Myron Mahaney was the subject who fired the gun.

On Friday, police say Mahaney was taken into custody without incident and admitted to firing the gun at the victim and other witnesses.

If convicted, punishment for felony 1st degree assault ranges from 10 to 30 years imprisonment.
