Macon Woman Killed in Missouri 15 Crash

(PLEVNA)—A Macon woman is dead following a head on collision on Missouri 15 five miles north of Plevna at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says pickup trucks driven by 44-year-old Marvin Horst of Novelty and 32-year-old Lucas Smith of Shelbyville collided in the southbound lane. A passenger in the Smith pickup, 35-year-old Jody Lyda of Macon, died in the crash. Smith sustained serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia. Horst sustained minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
