(HANNIBAL)—Groundbreaking ceremonies Wednesday afternoon mark the start toward a permanent home for Moberly Area Community College’s Hannibal Campus.

The Affordable Community Education Committee has put in a lot of work in raising funds for construction. There is still a loan to be paid off. The balance is currently less than a million dollars.

Plans are to begin holding classes at the new site on Route MM in January of 2014. The former AT&T Call Center on Communications is currently home to MACC’s Hannibal campus. They’ve been offering classes in Hannibal since 1998.
