Attorneys for Curtis Lovelace were back in Cass County Circuit Court Wednesday.

Judge Bob Hardwick ruled on defense motions filed in connection with Lovelace’s acquittal on murder charges.

Lovelace’s defense team had asked that his laptop be returned to him and that all of the bond money that had been posted on his behalf be returned.
Hardwick ruled that the state would keep the laptop pending the divorce case between Lovelace and his second wife, Erika Gomez.

The judge also ruled that the $300,000 bond posted by a Champaign County law firm would be returned, minus a ten percent bond fee, and that a $50,000 bond posted by a friend would be returned, minus a $5,400 GPS monitoring fee.

Curtis Lovelace was found not guilty of the murder of his first wife, Corey Lovelace, March 10th by a Sangamon County jury.
