A former Louisiana Missouri official files charges against the city with the Missouri Commission on Human Rights.

Bob Jenne accuses the city of age discrimination, illegal retaliation and unlawful discharge. Named in the filing are Mayor Bart Niedner and five city councilmen.    Niedner said he was stunned by the allegations and was awaiting additional guidance from the city attorney before commenting.

The 65-year-old managerial and law enforcement veteran was fired January 22 as city administrator. His stint as administrative police chief ended Wednesday (March 18).

Niedner recommended Jenne be fired amid allegations that Jenne mishandled government-mandated water plant improvements. Jenne denied the charges and countered that Niedner and the council had been well-informed for months about the project’s scope and costs.

Jenne seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, as well as attorney fees. An investigation by the state could take several months.
