The mayor of Louisiana has filed a cyber bullying lawsuit against what remains for now a faceless suspect.

Bart Niedner says he and his family were targets of repeated social media attacks that he calls evil, reckless and unacceptable lies.

The legal action has its roots when Niedner was a city councilman in early 2014, just before he was elected mayor. It names a person on Facebook called Silence DoGood who posted under the name The Dirt.

The lawsuit says DoGood falsely claimed Niedner and his wife covered up illegal payments at City Hall and wrongly accused Niedner of abusing his wife, engaging in sex parties and taking part in the rape of a woman. Ironically, DoGood also claims Niedner abused social media.

The Niedners are seeking more than 275 thousand dollars in actual and punitive damages. A court hearing has not been set.
