Lou Barta Enters Hannibal Mayor’s Race

Former Third Ward Hannibal City Councilman Lou Barta says he is running for mayor.

In a press release, Barta says he feels Hannibal needs a fresh start and that he is the person to lead the way. Barta cites his business and city council background and his presidency of the Friends of Historic Hannibal among his qualifications.

Barta is the second candidate to declare in the race. Current Hannibal City Councilman James Hark announced his candidacy in October.

Current mayor Roy Hark is not seeking another term.
