A rural Lewistown man dies Friday morning as the result of a tractor accident.

Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish reports 62 year old John Sparks was working under a large finishing mower when the mower accidentally fell off the jacks. Sparks was asphyxiated and was pronounced dead by Lewis County Coroner Larry Arnold at 11:55 a.m.

A 62 year old man has died in a tractor mishap in Lewis County Friday morning.

Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish reports the incident happened at 11 a.m. Friday just north of Highland High School west of Ewing. Apparently a man and his wife were mowing when the man decided to take his mower into a garage to work on it. The tractor then reportedly collapsed on the man.

The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives, was pronounced dead at 11:52 a.m. Friday.
