Lewis County Arrests

(MONTICELLO)—Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish says two Lewistown men are behind bars in connection with two separate incidents.  26 year-old Brian A. Griggs was arrested Monday on one count of Domestic Assault in the Second Degree after he allegedly attempted to cut his girlfriend with a knife.  The victim sustained minor injuries and did not seek treatment.  Griggs is jailed in lieu of $20,000 cash bond.
Deputies arrest 27 year-old Roman Lay on Thursday after Lay is reported to have stolen checks in March from a Lewistown resident and forged two checks in the victim’s name.  Lay is jailed on two counts of Forgery, a Class C Felony.  Lay was on parole from the Missouri Department of Corrections.  He remains incarcerated in the Lewis County Jail on $20,000 cash only bond.
