Because of the winter weather this weekend, the Area Musician's Fundraiser for Leaps of Love has been cancelled.

The 5th annual event starts at 6:30 p.m. today (Friday) and continues at 2 p.m. Saturday at Turner Hall in Quincy.

A couple of changes have been announced to the roster of performers. Mike Coultas and his group will play in place of Cadillac Ranch at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Tim Hart will take the place of KK Kendall at 3 p.m. Saturday.

ORIGINAL STORY

A group of local musicians get together for the 5th annual Local Area Musician's Charity Fundraiser Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31 & Feb. 1.

A variety of bands and individual artists will gather at Turner Hall at 926 Hampshire in Quincy to raise money for Leaps of Love. That's a non-profit organization that specializes in providing various kinds of assistance for families with children undergoing some kind of medical treatment.

The music gets underway Friday night at 6:30, with the Hearsay Band, Cadillac Ranch and the Crossroads Country Opry taking the stage.

They're right back at it Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. with Rick Ryder, followed by KK Kendall and Jamie Fenton, and then the bands Flatfoot Reed, Cheeseburgers, Big Deal, Pimpkatz and Further Ado, with a special reunion appearance of the original members of the band Predawn Hour topping off the weekend.

There will also be food, 50/50 drawings and auction items up for bid. Admission is $7 at the door. And, again, all the money goes to Leaps of Love.
