Knox County Shooting Leaves One Man Dead

(NOVELTY)—One man is dead following a shooting incident Tuesday near Novelty in Knox County.

Authorities say the shooting victim, 67-year-old William Bacon, was taken to Northeast Regional Medical Center where he died in the emergency room. A 24-year-old man is held in the Adair County Jail. His name won’t be released until formal charges are filed.

A report on KTVO television says the dispute was reportedly over whether a county road was closed or not. The Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and Knox County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
