Knox County Sheriff Robert Becker is resigning following a guilty plea to charges of sexual abuse and domestic assault.
The Missouri Attorney General’s office served as special prosecutor in the case due to a conflict of interest. Knox County Associate Circuit Judge Tom Redington sentenced Becker to a suspended sentence one year in the county jail for each offense and two years probation. Becker was suspended from duties as sheriff effective immediately. He must also surrender his peace officer standards and training license and enroll in sex offender treatment.
