John Davidson in Town Tonight

The Hannibal Concert Association is bringing nationally known entertainer John Davidson to town tonight.

To me, he's one of those names that's been around forever and done everything. But, I got to thinking, "What specifically has he done?" Without surfing the Internet, all I could up with was one of the incarnations of Hollywood Squares and a 70s sitcom called The Girl With Something Extra.

Some research revealed that he has been Mister Guest Star on a host of TV shows since the 60s. And, he's done a lot of musical theater over the years.

I've never met John Davidson, but I did meet his double once. Back in the 70s, there was a guy named Les McDowell who did bear a striking resemblance, and was John's double in whatever he was doing at the time. He had family in the Pittsfield area, and he stopped by the local radio station.

John Davidson's appearance tonight starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Roland Fine Arts Center at Hannibal-LaGrange University.
