Jenkins Pleads Guilty to Lesser Charge in Apartment Shooting

A Quincy man has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in connection with a March shooting at a Quincy apartment complex.

In Adams County Circuit Court Monday, 28 year old Louis Jenkins pleaded guilty to attempted discharge of a firearm.

As part of a plea deal, charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm were dropped.

Jenkins is alleged to have been involved in a shooting March 18th at Country Club Heights Apartments near 31st and State that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to a Quincy man.

Jenkins is back in court for a status hearing September 12th.
