Students at Hannibal High School will learn about how to respond in a possible school shooting situation today and tomorrow.
Students will see a video and split into classrooms for a shooter scenario. Parents got a look at the plan Wednesday evening. Lieutenant John Zerbonia of Hannibal Police says just hiding under a desk and waiting for police may not work anymore since most active shooter incidents are over in less than five minutes. District officials plan a similar exercise for elementary students later this year with age appropriate changes.
