A buyer of land at the former Holcim plant near Clarksville is just one of several groups interested in the former cement plant, its port and the surrounding land.

Records show Holcim sold three tracts at the shuttered facility along Highway 79 to the Missouri-based limited liability company S-T-R-W. The group has not announced plans for the site, but Pike County Development Authority Director Carolyn Wisecarver says there are others who are interested. The developments could tie in with the port authority being put together by Pike and Lincoln counties.

Wisecarver cautioned that even with the land sale, a development could be years away.
