Primary election races next spring in Illinois are starting to take shape.

In Adams County, Bryden Cory will run in the Republican primary for treasurer. Incumbent Republican Terry Asher is not seeking reelection.

Adams County Sheriff Democrat Brian VonderHaar has filed for his first full term after being appointed to replace Brent Fischer.

In district races, incumbent Republicans 94th District State Representative Randy Frese and 47th District State Senator Jil Tracy have filed for reelection.

In the 100th District, incumbent Republican State Rep C.D. Davidsmeyer will face a primary challenge from Jonas Petty.

In the 50th District Senate race, Republican Steve McClure will run for the seat now held by Sam McCann, who is not running for reelection.

There will be two Republicans and three Democrats on the 18th Congressional District ballot, including incumbent Republican Darrin LaHood.

Monday was the deadline for Illinois candidates to file for the March primary.
