Central Illinois authorities have charged a former school bus driver and assistant high school cheerleading sponsor who they say sexually abused a teenage boy.

The (Champaign) News-Gazette reports a Piatt County state's attorney said Monday 43-year-old Tamzin Wegrich of Bement is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Wegrich is accused of sexually abusing a boy between the ages of 13 and 17 in July.

Wegrich resigned from her cheerleading sponsor position at Bement High School last week. She was a driver for a bus service contracted by the school district. She has also been a pool manager for a seasonal Bement swimming pool for the past three years.

It's unclear how she knew the boy.

Wegrich faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. It wasn't immediately clear if she has an attorney.
