It all came down to a 40 yd. field goal attempt with the game on the line Friday night.  Palmyra's Noah Mencer successfully kicked two field goals in the first half.  With just seconds remaining, Palmyra trailed 22 to 20.  Mencer attempted to kick another field goal which would have put Palmyra up by a point.  His kick from about 40 yards missed the uprights as the clock ran out.

The game between the two rivals was played at Lankford Field in Monroe City. Monroe remains undefeated with a 9-0 record.  Palmyra stands at  7-2.

The Hannibal Pirates traveled to Columbia Friday night.  Columbia Battle capitalized on a couple of Pirate fumbles and surged to a 20-0 lead.  The Pirates scored two TD's in the second half, but fall short as the final was Columbia Battle 28,  Hannibal 14.  The Pirates begin District play next week with a record of 5-4.
