(HANNIBAL)—July brought eleven days with high temperatures at or above 100 degrees according to readings at the Hannibal Filter Plant.

New record highs were set on July 6th when the thermometer peaked at 103 to break  the previous record of 101 set in 1954 and equaled in 1977 and on July 7th when the high was 105. That broke the previous record of 102 set in 1936.  The July 5th high of 104 equaled the record set in 1936.  The high temperature for July 2012 came on July 23 when the Filter Plant recorded a high of 106.

The highest recorded temperature for July in Hannibal was 114 on July 14, 1954.

Late June also brought four consecutive highs at or above 100 including a record high of 104 on June 28th. That broke the previous record of 102 set in 1934.
