Highland Students Recognized for Seat Belt Usage

(EWING)--97.8% seat belt usage by Highland High School students brings recognition from the Northeast Coalition for Roadway Safety and MODOT. Marissa Christie Kerns helped present a Silver Banner award at Tuesday night’s home basketball games at Highland for the high rate of seatbelt usage. Participating schools conduct a surprise seat belt usage check at the start of the competition and again at a later date.
99 percent usage or better earns a gold banner... 95 to 98 percent usage brings a silver and 91 to 94 percent usage earns a bronze award.
