(Hannibal, Mo)— Drivers may be dodging limbs piled near Hannibal roadways for some time, according to Mayor Roy Hark.  Hark says removing all the storm debris is a massive undertaking for city crews...

"We are working very diligently to get it all picked up, but it's going to take some time; possibly a 2 to 3 month process.  We have 12 men on the Street Department, everyone's kicking in and helping, but there's only so much you can move in a day."

Mayor Hark says MODOT has provided some trucks and assistance to the city.

He asks that citizens exercise patience in light of the fact that no lives were lost due to the storm.

"I know it's an inconvenience; I think we owe a lot of thanks to the good Lord that no one got hurt or killed in this thing.  Hannibal can pull together; we've done it before, and I have every confidence that the citizens of Hannibal will pull together and we'll get over this too."

Hannibal residents who don't wish to wait for city pickup can haul storm debris to Washington or Adams Streets on the city's South Side.
