It’s been over a year since Hannibal got as much rainfall in a month as fell in October.

The numbers from the National Weather Service measuring station at the Hannibal Filter Plant show that 7.26 inches of rain was recorded in October. That’s nearly twice as much as the average rainfall for the month.

The last time Hannibal got more than seven inches of rain in a month was June of 2017, when 7.06 inches of precip was reported.

Over half of the October total came early in the month, with over four inches of rain coming on the 4th, 6th and 7th.

The warmest days of the month also came early, with a high of 89 coming on the 3rd. The first sub-freezing days of the season came later, with a low of 29 coming on the 21st.
