Groundbreaking ceremonies Tuesday morning mark the start of a $61 million expansion project at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Hannibal Regional President and CEO Todd Ahrens says the project will enhance local healthcare capacities and ensure the area has the highest quality healthcare available. The project includes addition of a two story wing for intensive care and progress care and new modern surgical suites to expand operating room capacity. Construction of an 88,000 square foot medical group office building is also included. Upgrades are also planned in the main hospital area including entrances, private registration areas and a new café area. Work is expected to be complete in 2020.
