Hannibal Regional Asks Those With Flu-Like Symptoms to Avoid Visits

Officials at Hannibal Regional are asking those who have flu-like symptoms to refrain from visiting friends or loved ones in the hospital.
Hannibal Regional officials say hospitalized patients often have conditions which make them more vulnerable to complications from influenza. Hannibal Regional Infection Preventionist Mary Bennett says they’ve seen an increase in patients with respiratory illnesses and confirmed cases of influenza. Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal Regional Emergency Department, Hannibal Regional Medical Group and their outpatient clinics also have disposable face masks and hand sanitizer available for visitors and patients.
