Hannibal Police release more information on Saturday night's shooting incident in downtown Hannibal.

Police say the driver of the vehicle involved in Saturday evening’s shooting incident is known to be violent and was wanted on a felony parole warrant for dangerous drugs and a failure to appear warrant for a marijuana offense. Police identify the driver as 24-year-old DaMark Rudd of Hannibal. Police say the male passenger who suffered the gunshot wound is a 23-year-old Hannibal man. Rudd is held in the Marion County Jail with additional charges pending.

The Hannibal Police officer is a 19 year veteran of the department who has been placed on paid administrative leave. The officer will remain on leave until circumstances of the incident have been properly reviewed. An investigation by the Missouri Highway Patrol and an internal review by Hannibal Police continues.
