Hannibal Police have an update on an ongoing homicide investigation. Police have identified the man found dead earlier this month at a residence at 2034 Broadway as 84-year-old Carl Maxwell of Hannibal.

Police say it appears from the homicide investigation thus far that the death of Maxwell occurred months prior to law enforcement being notified. A person of interest has been identified in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

Officers were called to 2034 Broadway at 2:57 pm to investigate the discovery a deceased adult male found in the residence. The residence was believed to have been a vacant property prior to the discovery of the deceased.
