Hannibal Police say five arrests Wednesday result from an investigation into drug sales in the 2400 block of Hope.

Anti Crime Enforcement Squad officers and members of the department’s Special Response team encountered nine people as they used a search warrant at 2406 Hope. Substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana were found in the residence. Police say 33 year old Austin Porter of Hannibal is charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and on a probation and parole warrant. 22 year old Emmanuella Ritter is charged with possession of a controlled substance.  27 year old John LaJoy Jr is charged with distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Porter, Ritter and LaJoy were taken to the Marion County Jail. Police say the investigation also resulted in the arrest of 33 year old Franklin Riley on a municipal warrant. 19 year old Isaac Swarnes was arrested for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
