As preparations are being made for National Tom Sawyer Days in America's Hometown, the Hannibal Police Department has announced parking restrictions during the Fourth of July Parade, and the Hannibal Cannibal on July 5. 

No parking will be allowed on Broadway in Hannibal from 2 a.m. on July 4, through the conclusion of the parade (which begins at 10 a.m.). Officers will contact businesses along the parade route the evening of July 3 to remind them of parking restrictions. Vehicles found parked along the route, 2 hours prior to the parade, may be subject to tow.

The parade route will be on Broadway, at Grand Ave, traveling east on Broadway to Main St. The parade will travel south on Main St to Church St where it will end.

On July 5, the annual Hannibal Cannibal will take place, and similar parking restrictions will be in effect along the race's course. No parking along the Hannibal Cannibal route will be allowed beginning at 2 a.m. the morning of July 5, through the conclusion of the race. Vehicles found parked along the route, 2 hours prior to the event, may be subject to tow.

The Hannibal Cannibal course will start at North and Main St and go down South Main to Church then across the 3rd St over pass. It will then head out of town on Mo 79 where the runners will turn and come back in the City on the same route. Mo 79 will be completely shut down at Mo 79 and Church St until the end of the race.
