Hannibal Police announce a prescription drug take back program.

You are encouraged to drop off unused prescription and over the counter medications at the Hannibal Police Department. Police say no needles… syringes or liquid medications will be accepted. Take back hours are weekdays between 8 a-m and 4 p-m. Bring your unused medications to the front lobby of the police department and officers will assist. Police say proper disposal of unwanted medications is important to prevent abuse that can evolve into people seeking illegal street drugs such as heroin. There are also environmental concerns over medications being flushed or poured down the drain. That can release toxins into the environment.
