Hannibal Pirates and Lady Pirates Host Districts

High school basketball's second season starts at home for the Hannibal Pirates and Lady Pirates. 
Hannibal hosts MSHSAA Class 4 District 8 during the week of February 25.  The Hannibal boys are the #1 seed. The Lady Pirates have the #3 seed in their bracket. The schedule for district week is as follows....

District winners advance to the sectionals at Troy on Wednesday, March 6th to meet the winner of District 7. Ft Zumwalt East, McCluer, Orchard Farm, St. Charles, St. Charles West and St. Dominic will sort things out at St. Charles West for the right to head up to Troy.

Troy's sectional winners play in the quarterfinals at Francis Howell Central in St. Charles on Saturday March 9th. The boys game is set for 1 p-m with the girls game to follow. Solid teams from Jennings, Hazelwood East, Ladue Horton Watkins and Westminster are among the possible boys opponents. MICDS and Ladue Horton Watkins have solid girls programs. Of course, this is high school basketball and there are surprises every now and then.
